Laura Cassai won our hearts on Masterchef with her wonderful ability to create and produce beautiful Italian dishes that spoke of an ingrained knowledge of food and cooking well beyond her years. Laura lives, breathes and dreams food: she is the real deal. Her early memories consist of standing on a chair at the kitchen table mixing pasta dough alongside her mum and nonna. Runner up in the 2014 Masterchef series and a big fan favourite, Laura Cassai loves food.With a rich Italian heritage, Laura grew up under the watchful eyes of her nonna Maria and nonna Rosa. Lauras connection to her Italian roots strengthened as a child when the family lived in Tuscany for two years.Laura says cooking is in her blood. She is the youngest contestant to compete in a Masterchef grand final.
