Author Bio

Christian Petracca is a professional sportsman who plays AFL football for the Melbourne Football Club. His first sporting success was basketball but at 16 he chose AFL football. Hugely popular with fans and a consummate athlete, he was drafted as second overall by the Melbourne club in 2014. He made his AFL debut in 2016, and earned a rising star nomination. He was Melbournes leading goalkicker in 2019. In 2020 he won Best & Fairest and finished equal third in the Brownlow Medal count. In 2021 the Melbourne Demons won their first AFL Premiership in 57 years and Christian won the Norm Smith Medal for the AFL Grand Final best player on ground. Christian has been selected four times in the All Australian team.
