When I bake recipes from cookbooks, I always want to change them. I wanted to reduce the sugar a little, add more pecans, and add spices other than the cardamom the recipe called for, but Im so glad I left it exactly as it is written. It is a masterpiece. Author Bio

Belinda Smith-Sullivan is a chef, food writer, spice blends entrepreneur, and a commercially rated pilot. She has a culinary arts degree from Johnson & Wales University, and writes a monthly column for South Carolina Living. She also is featured on South Carolina Livings website with monthly how-to videos. Smith-Sullivan is an active member of the Southern Foodways Alliance, International Association of Culinary Professionals, American Culinary Federation, and Les Dames dEscoffier. She lives in Trenton, SC, in the heart of South Carolinas peach country.

Kate Blohm is a photographer and videographer and her work has been featured in Forbes, Elle Dcor, Architectural Digest, Atlanta Magazine, and many other publications. She is also the on-staff photographer at La Fortezza, a series of creative workshops hosted in Fivizzano, Italy. She lives in Charleston, SC.
