Author Bio

Having worked alongside great chefs including Pierre Koffmann, Nico Ladenis, Marco Pierre White and Ferran Adria, Jason Atherton joined the Gordon Ramsay Group in 2001 as the executive chef for Verre in Dubai. By 2005 he was at the helm of Maze in London, launching what would be the most successful brand in the group. In 2011 Jason opened his own flagship restaurant, Pollen Street Social, which won a Michelin star within six months. Deemed London's Best Fine Dining restaurant by the Time Out Eating & Drinking Awards 2011, Pollen Street Social also won New Restaurant of the Year at the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2012 and was ranked sixth in The Good Food Guides Top 50 Restaurants 2013. Jason's restaurants include Pollen Street Social, Social Eating House, Berners Tavern, City Social and Little Social in London; Table No. 1 and The Commune Social in Shanghai; 22 Ships, Ham & Sherry and Aberdeen Street Social in Hong Kong; and Esquina, Pollen, and Keong Saik Snacks in Singapore. Next to open are restaurants in Hong Kong (June 2014), Dubai (September 2014), New York (March 2015) and Sydney (April 2015). Jasons recipes and articles have appeared widely in magazines and newspapers including: the Guardian, Sunday Times, Observer Food Monthly, Waitrose Food Illustrated, and Caterer and Hotelkeeper.
