Author Bio

Jason Chongue is the Creative Director of Melbourne-based design studio and store The Plant Society (www.theplantsociety.com.au/ @theplantsocietyau). After having gained a wealth of experience working as a Melbourne-based architect and interior designer, Jason merged his passion for plants and design by establishing The Plant Society in 2016, focussing on designing with plants in small urban spaces.

Together with his partner, Nathan Smith, Jason leads and mentors a growing team at The Plant Society in their Melbourne and Sydney studios and stores. Jason and Nathan are involved in a vast range of plant projects across Australia, promoting positive and open conversations about gardening and greenery, not only indoors, but in compact outdoor environments. Their focus on community and honest relationships has seen them work with various brands and in unique spaces, both designing with and looking after plants on a regular basis.

Since being established, The Plant Society has grown exponentially and has attracted a loyal following in Australia and globally. Jason regularly travels internationally to pass on his knowledge to aspiring plant enthusiasts in plant workshops.
