Claudette Mayfield is a children's book author and Illustrator. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California Claudette began writing as a young child submitting her first creative work around the age of nine for a puppet show at her elementary schools summer program.
With a love for art Claudette began drawing in her very early childhood with the characters from TV Guide her mother frequently brought home. She also was required to attend and participate in neighborhood craft classes such as knitting, dance, modeling, performing arts, and church programs.
At the completion of high school Claudette worked in Banking over fifteen years. She expanded her career path to Family Service Programs which she worked for ten years, and then to Mortuary Services for four years.
Claudette enjoys family time, fashion, interior design, gardening, music, poetry, art, and cooking. "Granny's Eat Good Garden" is Claudette's first published work with plans of more to come.
