In this envelope, there are 25 embroidery designs, with a botanical theme. 5 sheets of embroidery transfers are included, which iron on using a hot dry iron.

There is included, a stitch guide, with 11 stitches to help you stitch your project and make it beautiful.

Brian Haggard was a florist for 22 years and it is easy to see where he got his inspiration for these stunning designs. Changing colour threads will give each project a classic and beautiful finish, and even if you dont want to do the projects that are included, I think using a few of the transfers will give you a unique and stunning sampler.

This is an amazing project kit, its beauty is in the simplicity of each design and I cannot wait to get started.

Open this envelope and you will find a booklet and five full-sized iron-on transfer sheets. There are 25 designs that you can mix and match in your own work plus four projects to make up into a table runner, quilted pillow, thread storage board and shadow box picture.

I love the fact that you also have somewhere to keep your own patterns and notes, as there is room left in this sturdy card envelope. This author favours an antique, muted colour palette of creams, beiges and mosses which gives it an heirloom quality. He was inspired by old botanical specimens and frescoes seen in Florence, but these designs can be depicted in any colour scheme and look effective. Each plant has a brief description plus tips on which stitches to use and a two-page guide to how to work the various stitches. These are mostly basic freestyle embroidery stitches, plus one using ribbon.

Full instructions are given for the four projects but in text only; this is a book aimed at those who are experienced enough with both embroidery and making up to dispense with diagrams and photographs. At the back of the booklet are a few pages of gallery ideas to whet your appetite for your own work. This is a lovely pack for anybody who enjoys hand embroidery.
