This volume completes this collection's exploration of patterns of all kinds for women and men. It focuses on the shaping of men's and women's outwear. The eight chapters of this volume follow the technical and educational approach of the first two volumes and combine images and text to provide a clear and in-depth explanation of how to develop and to produce patterns. The wide range of patterns examined includes basic forms of jackets, coats and cloaks as well as the latest trends and new cuts proposed by designers that go beyond the timeless and fundamental models. The book also offers detailed descriptions of drafting techniques, which are essential for the industrial patternmaker, and, last but not least, techniques for altering and fitting jackets, coats and cloaks. AUTHOR: Antonio Donnanno began in his career in his family's tailor shop and later, after majoring in history and philosophy, focused on the teaching of costume history and patternmaking techniques. In 1982, he founded the acknowledged Euromode School Italia in Bergamo, which soon expanded with new branches on the international stage and where, alongside his teaching duties, Donnanno also serves as director. Antonio Donnanno has written dozens of books about fashion and has his own consulting firm, focusing on patternmaking and business. As a consultant, illustrator and stylist for different fashion companies Elisabetta Kuky Drudi has planned and organized fashion shows and collections on an international level. She is also author of several bestsellers. Currently she designs for various international fashion houses. Fully illustrated
"As the director of and a teacher at the Euromode School Italia in Bergamo, Antonio created this no-frills series as an almanac or a formula book on pattern drafting.... Fashion Patternmaking Techniques is highly useful for certain segments of the sewist community. Fashion students, professors, industry professionals, advanced sewists, and people who are adept at math will get the most out of this book."
