Description

Sweat Shop is the first 'cafe couture' in Paris, a sewing cafe with a unique spirit situated next to the Canal St Martin in the 10th arrondissement. Designed to inspire community and creativity, and rediscover a traditional sense of handmade artistry, it was ironically named to highlight the less than ethical nature of much shop-bought fashion. The Parisian Sweatshop is a craft book overflowing with French style, inspired by the sheer joie de vivre of this celebrated establishment. Driven by the 'stop shopping and start making' philosophy of its authors, it offers a structured course based on those taught in the cafe, and so much more. Enjoy an eclectic mix of sewing, knitting, and crocheted projects, plus everything from restyling to revamping, from recipes to Paris shopping tips.
