The book provides full-size templates for 45 applique flowers, 2 butterflies and 5 borders. The designs have a real Jacobean essence and are hand worked. There are helpful instructions on how to use today's modern fabrics and still create an antique look. This is a lovely book and perfect for those who prefer hand sewing.

Deb covers the basics such as positioning the appliqu, mak- ing small ovals and circles, freezer paper templates and embellishing. She also provides tips on appliquing stems and leaves. The 14 projects include pillows, table runners and small tapestry-style quilts and wall hangings. The templates and the patterns in the book are printed full size. The instructions are very easy to understand and the illustrations feature detailed photographs and drawings. You will be inspired by the photos of Debs beautiful quilts and you will gain the confidence you need from her well thought out and detailed instructions. All the projects are interchangeable and you are encouraged to create your own design by mixing and matching the patterns and experimenting with different fabrics such as silks, bright cottons and chintzes.
