This is the first book to address the subject of German Fallschirmjger troops for the figure modeller. The major items of Fallschirmjger uniform and equipment are covered, with an emphasis on specially designed paratrooper items. Clear step-by-step instructions allow the reader to recreate realistic figures in miniature scale with confidence and ease. Among the tutorials covered in this book are face painting, creating complex camouflage patterns, weathering clothing, and figure conversion techniques, as well as vignette and diorama settings for your figures (creating groundwork and balancing composition). The projects featured range from single-figure studies to full-scale dioramas, covering all the major periods and theatres of the war.
"If you are looking for [a book] with full color photos describing construction and the painting process, [this book] is exactly what you need... Full color photographs detailing each part of the particular process and finished figures. There are no black and white photos to be found... [Comes] with an extensive reference and bibliography for those who wish to learn more. For wargamers who like their Osprey books full of pictures and easy to understand 'how to' instructions, the Modelling Series may have exactly the books you need!" --HMG Reviewing Stand
"Akin to Fallschirm tour guide, this book takes us to each theater and era of the Fallschirmjager, reflecting their fortunes as the war turned against Germany... Messer's Forns and Romero have presented a highly useful, informative and inspirational volume for figure modelers of Fallschirmjager, indeed useful for any figure subject. Highly recommended." --Fred Boucher, Aeroscale
Jaume Ortiz Forns was born in 1969. He built model tanks and planes for several years, before switching to figure modelling. He specialises in World War II German Army figures, with a particular interest in painting camouflage uniforms, and vignette design and composition. He has won several awards in various key European modelling shows. Jaume combines modelling with his job as a stage-lighting designer for theatrical shows. He lives in Barcelona, Spain. Daniel Alfonsea Romero lives in Barcelona with his wife Teresa and their daughter, Laura. He tried his hand at various modelling disciplines until finally settling on figure modelling.
