Build your woodturning skills and confidence with this variety of projects that take between a couple of hours and a couple of days to complete. All of the 25 projects can be undertaken using a limited amount of tools and equipment. Making use of the six basic tools - spindle roughing gouge, spindle gouge, parting tool, bowl gouge, skew chisel and scrapers - the book will introduce a couple of carving tools and a boring tool and explain why and how to use them. Each project will have a list of tools and materials required, drawings with dimensions and a panel on the wood used. Sections on safety and seasoning wood are also included. AUTHOR: Mark Baker has always been fascinated by wood. His father was a carpenter and joiner and, on leaving school, he served a five-year apprenticeship working for a local building firm, which included restoration work. Mark has also helped set up an industrial workshop for autistic adults and he has worked for some of the major manufacturers of woodturning tools in the UK. He is now the editor of Woodturning magazine and the group editor of all GMC Publications woodworking magazines. His previous books are Woodturning Projects: A Workshop Guide to Shapes, Wood for Woodturners and Wood Turning: A Craftman's Guide, all published by GMC Publications.
"Thoroughly 'user friendly' with profusely illustrated step-by-step instructions for each individually showcased DIY woodworking project, Weekend Woodturning Projects is an especially and unreservedly recommended for personal, professional, school woodshop, library Woodworking collections."
