"How Trump Stole America" is a parody of the Dr. Seuss holiday classic, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," that is humorous and hopeful and is sure to delight readers of all ages this holiday season. At a time like this, one can't help but wonder what some of the great voices of humor past would say if they were alive today. This book provides welcome lightness at a time when things are looking fairly dark for Americans.
Alison Freebairn-Smith is a Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter who loved reading Dr. Seuss books, while growing up in Sherman Oaks, and years later, enjoyed sharing them with her own daughter. When Donald Trump became president of the United States, and in the ensuing months as he continued to astound and disappoint with his ridiculous tweets, unbecoming behavior, and inhumane policies, she wondered what the great Dr. Seuss would say about all of this if he were still around. So, she used her own voice to parody one of Seuss' classic tales about a Trump-like character who tries to steal Christmas.
