Serlina Boyd was inspired by her 6 years old daughter to launch Cocoa Girl, the UK's first magazine to celebrate Black girls. It received universal acclaim during the first lockdown of 2020, and Serlina made many television and radio appearances. Cocoa Boy magazine launched shortly afterwards. Serlina believes strongly in giving Black children a voice, by educating them about Black culture and Black role models in a fun and engaging way.
