Fans of the hit Bravo show Tabatha's Salon Takeover tune in for the straight-shooting, unvarnished commentary of its ballsy, stylish, and savvy star. Refusing to let others define her, Tabatha Coffey has reclaimed the word "bitch," transforming it to fit the person she is : Brave, Intelligent, Tenacious, Creative, and Honest. In It's Not Really About the Hair, this deeply private woman shares the experiences of her own life to encourage you to get in touch with your own inner bitch. Part memoir, part business manual, and part coaching guide on achieving self-acceptance and love, It's Not Really About the Hair is Tabatha's raw, funny, shocking, and always inspirational story-one that will encourage you to celebrate the long-lasting and most important beauty of all: the true beauty that is you.
Tabatha Coffey was first introduced to America as a contestant in the Bravo reality show Shear Genius, hosted by actress Jaclyn Smith, where she quickly earned a reputation for her outspokenness and intensity. Although she was ousted in the 6th episode, she had won nearly all of the competitions before that and was awarded $10,000 as the shows Fan Favorite. In 2008, Bravo asked her to star in her own reality series, Tabathas Salon Takeover which combines Coffeys hairdressing and business expertise with her edgy style as she assists salons in danger of closing. The popular show is entering its 3rd season. Coffey has also appeared on Make Me a Supermodel Season 2, The Tyra Banks Show as a part of Banks Glam Squad, and The Biggest Loser along with Tim Gunn, giving make-overs to the shows contestant. As a platform artist for hair care product company Joico International, she also tours different countries 6-12 times a year so she has international appeal. She participates in Fashion Week and has been featured in several publications including Seventeen, Marie Claire and Mademoiselle. Most recently she hosted the red carpet at the Spirit Awards at IFC.
