This is a story of how Jude the dog finds his forever home when he is taken to the local animal shelter from the public library. This funny, lovable dog is adopted and gives his family loads of unconditional love in return. It is a story which celebrates pet adoption as we see how Jude spends his days rushing headlong into life and enjoying every moment, especially when he can get into some mischief.

Author Bio

Monica Foderingham has been a Librarian for over 30 years. A Caribbean cultural advocate, she also founded the Caribbean Film Festival in Atlanta, the Caribbean Spelling Bee, the Caribbean Quiz Bowl, Caribbean Story Time, and is a co-founder of the Anansi Festival in Atlanta. She loves all types of picture books, and over the years has built a collection of autographed African American titles. Her other hobbies are reading, baking, and watching documentaries. She was born in Jamaica to a Barbadian father and Jamaican mother, and is the mother of three adult daughters. Monica has Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Library Science from the State University of New York at Albany and the University of the West Indies respectively. She lives in Stonecrest, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta.

Monica has been an animal lover since she was a child, and has become an animal adoption advocate since she adopted her first dog Jackson seven years ago. This is her first book.

Adopt, don't shop! Khalid Johnson is a Decatur, Georgia based artist and storyteller. He is currently a graduate student at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) studying sequential art, and has a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Young Harris College. Drawing as a child with his father, he was inspired to a career as a comic artist and has spent his life working toward that goal. He enjoys the opportunities to visually tell a story no matter the medium.
