Pete is an American Pika that lives in the talus slopes and rock piles of Yellowstone National Park. Pete is a small creature about the size of a hamster and is related to the rabbit. Pika's are shy and often not easy to observe, but may be recognized by their shrill whistle. The book is filled with facts about the American Pika, and Jodi's photographs capture Pete's life among the rocks. Pete's predators include hawks, owls, and foxes. The existence of Pikas in Yellowstone National Park may be threatened by climate change. The book is colorful and educational.
