Stanley Myers, Ph.D, is a professor emeritus of psychology at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA., having retired after 42 years on the faculty As part of his duties he taught a course entitled Psychology and the Environment which examined human impact on the environment. That course was sometimes taught in the classroom, but a second iteration of the course took students on safari to East Africa for a first-hand look at what humans are doing to the natural world. Those trips were among the twenty times he has been on safari in Africa. He is a member of the National Wildlife Federation, The World Wildlife Foundation, The National Geographic Society, and The Nature Conservancy. He spent sixteen years volunteering as a Docent at the good Zoo in Wheeling, WV. where he accumulated experiences which helped him to deal with and understand animals and their behaviors.
