Darill Clements was the former Public Relations Manager for Taronga Zoo in Sydney and the Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, Australia. When she started at the zoo, she knew nothing about animals. However, they soon provided her with a fund of stories, many of which are shared in this book. This volume highlights a quarter of a century of behind-the-scenes life at Taronga Zoo in Sydney and Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, with the animals, and some humans, dictating the anecdotes. There are tales of Anastasia the albatross who hated heights, the koalas who packed their pouches for Japan, Lulu the chimp who loves fireworks and the unusual facts and life lessons that zoo animals provide for visiting children - all written from Darill's very personal perspective.
