IMPOSSIBLE, YOU SAY NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WHEN YOU WORK FOR THE CIRCUS.
These words are now going where they can do the most possible good: on the cover of a diary of self-actualization, McSweeney's first-ever journal. Behind this cover is a whole bunch of blank space, fertile ground for fertile thoughts, sprinkled with a wealth of hand-scripted, life-affirming wisdom, including quotes from Dolly Parton and others (but mostly Dolly Parton).
Where other publishing houses say Nu-uh, McSweeneys says Mm-hmm!
McSweeney's began in 1998 as a literary journal edited by Dave Eggers that only published work rejected by other magazines. But after the first issue, the journal began to publish pieces written with McSweeney's in mind. Since then, McSweeney's has attracted work from some of the finest writers in the country. Based in San Francisco, McSweeney's is a small publishing house committed to finding new voices and promoting the work of gifted but underappreciated writers.
