The third edition of the bestselling definitive, comprehensive history of the beloved Chicago ballclub moves the story forward from the champagne-soaked celebrations following the 2005 World Series championship through the 2010 season. Revised and updated, it features dozens of new and rarely seen photographs, more than 200 player biographies, year-by-year coverage from 1900 through 2010, front office profiles, complete postseason wrap-ups, great moments in team history, and a richly detailed statistics section. A treasure trove of little-known facts, oddities, and trivia, plus behind-the-scenes stories of Ozzie Guillen, Kenny Williams, and the entire South Side clan add to the colorful and occasionally outrageous history of the Chicago White Sox.
Richard C. Lindberg is an author, a journalist, and a research historian who has written and published more than 15 books dealing with aspects of Chicago city history, politics, criminal justice, sports, and ethnicity. A lifelong fan of the Chicago White Sox, Lindberg parlayed his research skills and enthusiasm for the ballclub into four published volumes of history and a significant role as the official team historian. He is a former president of the Society of Midland Authors and of the Illinois Academy of Criminology. Mark Fletcher is a photographer and a fan of the White Sox. Ken Hawk Harrelson is a former MLB All-Star first baseman and outfielder and a television broadcast announcer for the White Sox.
