Spanning from New York to the Virginia border, Best Hikes of the Appalachian Trail: Mid-Atlantic highlights the very must-hike sections of the Appalachian Trail. Written by experienced AT hiker and author Cindy Ross, the book details 45 hikes along the AT from the trails entrance into New York and New Jersey, through Pennsylvania, and into Maryland. It helps hikers experience those special moments in special places on the Appalachian Trail, whether it is hiking to overlooks, waterfalls and wildernesses, as well as scenic, cultural and historical sites, even trail towns.
Ideal for section and day-hikers, this guide is designed to help you explore the very best of the Appalachian Trail. The variety of hikes contained within its pages reflects the variety of opportunities along the master path of the East. The routes befit a range of athletic prowess and hiking experience.
