A fifth-generation California native, Liza Gershmans family arrived during the 1850s Gold Rush to pioneer the Wild West. Its no wonder that her view is one of an explorer, and her passion for travel and excitement to share her discoveries with others has led to a career as a travel writer, photographer and book author, documenting the wonders of the world. Liza writes and photographs for many American media outlets including Travel + Leisure, Huffington Post and San Francisco Chronicle, for which she wrote a monthly column called '5 Places' in their travel section. She is the author of 19books including her most recent cookbook, Country Fair, which was listed as one of the Ten Best Food Books in 2021 by Smithsonian Magazine. While Liza's work and insatiable curiosity for culture has taken her to the far reaches of the globe, she always returns home to her California roots.
