His books include Rescue of the Bounty, A Storm Too Soon, and Overboard! Tougias also authored There's a Porcupine in My Outhouse: Misadventures of a Mountain Man Wannabe, which won "Best Nature Book of 2003" (Independent Publishers Association) and was a finalist for ForeWord Magazine's Nature Book of the Year. The book was praised by several newspapers as "hilarious, laugh-out loud funny." Tougias is a much sought-after public speaker.
