One of Australias most experienced travel writers, and two-time winner of the prestigious Australian Society of Travel Writers Best Adventure Story Award, Lee Atkinson has been writing about her adventures on and off the road for Australian newspapers, magazines and travel guides since 1991. A self-confessed road trip junky who loves getting away from the crowds in wild and remote places, she believes that any excuse to hit the road is a good one.
Lee is the author of 13 travel books and two smartphone apps about travelling in and around Australia and co-editor of two anthologies of travel writing, as well as a contributor to Explore Australias Camping Around Australia guide and the road tripping bible, Explore Australia.
