With a new title and fresh design, Budget Travel Australia remains the ultimate guide to Australia's best free and low-cost rest areas and campsites!
This fully updated edition includes listings for over 2000 sites across the country, all of which have been carefully selected and star-rated by the author. Perfect for road trips and caravan travel, this guide is organised by highway, with the sites listed in the order they are found on the road, making it incredibly easy to use. There is also a new regional section at the end of each state or territory chapter with recommended campsites that are located off the main highways.
Each listing comes with icons that will tell you at a glance what amenities are available, such as free camping, site suitable for a caravan or camper trailer, wheelchair access, dogs allowed, playground and more. There is also a photo for every listing, so you'll know what to expect when you arrive. With 40 pages of atlas maps for easy navigation, this book is a one-stop shop for those who spend a lot of time on the road.
Author Paul Smedley, of the bestselling guides Budget Rest Areas Around Australia, has officially passed on the baton to his daughter, Rhyanna, with this essential new edition.
Rhyanna Smedleys love of travel started when she was five, travelling all over Australia with her dad, Paul Smedley, each year. As soon as she was old enough to drive, she started taking road trips with her sister along the Great Ocean Road and to Uluru. At 19 years old she bought a Kombi, saved up some cash and headed off on a nine-year road trip that included helping her dad with rest arearesearch for his books, Budget Rest Areas around Australia. Rhyanna now lives in north-eastern New South Wales and hits the road in her Kombi as often as she can.
