The Agius Evolution Garden at Kew Gardens opened in the summer of 2019. Designed by Richard Wilford, with interpretation by Sharon Willoughby, the Evolution Garden is arranged according to the latest classification of plants, based on DNA analysis. This book explains the design process, the science behind the garden and lists the plants used to show the plant Tree of Life.
Richard Wilford is the Manager of Garden Design at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He is the author of The Great Broad Walk Borders (Kew Publishing, 2016), The Kew Gardeners Guide to Growing Bulbs (Frances Lincoln, 2019), Alpines from Mountain to Garden (Kew Publishing, 2010). Sharon Willoughby is Head of Interpretation at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Before Kew, Sharon was part of the Landscape Planning Group for the award-winning Australian Garden at Cranbourne.
