Barry Cohen, M.D., is the medical director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at the Gagnon Heart Hospital of Morristown, New Jersey. A native of Montreal, he completed his undergraduate studies at McGill University, and received his medical degree from the University of Sherbrooke in Canada. Dr. Cohen completed his cardiology fellowship at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, following which he completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. Dr. Cohen is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Boards of Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention, and the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. He is a past president of the New Jersey Society of Interventional Cardiology and is a practicing clinical cardiologist with Associates in Cardiovascular Disease in Springfield , New Jersey. Dr. Cohen has published numerous scientific papers and abstracts in interventional cardiology. He pioneered rotational atherectomy used in the treatment of complex calcified coronary arterial blockages, and is an investigator testing new stent designs. He also has an interest in gene and cell therapy research. Dr. Cohen treats stroke victims who have associated heart defects.
