About the author Dr Chris Schull is a Consultant Physician (Specialist in internal medicine). He wrote the original text in response to a need for appropriate training and reference material when working in a rural area in Papua New Guinea, after working in Africa. After much trialling and re-writing of the Papua New Guinea book, he was asked to expand it to make it applicable to other countries. Further details are given in the Preface.
