Lameness is the third most economically important disease affecting cattle today, and the single most important welfare issue, especially for the housed dairy cow. The responsibility for dealing with it can fall on everyone involved in the industry, from the stockperson right through to the veterinary surgeon. This book is essential for anyone involved in the day-to-day practical health care of cattle.
Chris Watson, MA, VetMB, MRCVS is a life-long veterinary surgeon. During his career he has gained a huge amount of practical experience in dealing with lameness in cattle. Chris has presented demonstrations and written extensively on the subject. He is involved in developing lameness treatment techniques and prevention protocols. He has been a long-serving member of the British Cattle Veterinary Association, was the Association's secretary for eight years and its president in 1996.
