Thomas John Papadimos, MD, MPH, FCCM is an Emeritus Professor of Anesthesiology at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio He has served as Vice Chair of the department as well as Section Head of Critical Care Medicine. He is an educator whose focus has been on the philosophy of medicine, aging, and the end-of-life, as well as critical care in general. He has also served as an associate dean at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences, Toledo, OH. He is board-certified in anesthesiology, critical care medicine, and general preventive medicine. Furthermore, he has held visiting professorships at the University of Athens School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, Attikon University Hospital; as well as Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou, China. He is a retired U.S. Navy Medical Officer, a Fulbright Scholar, and has published over 400 manuscripts, chapters, books, and abstracts.
He received his undergraduate education at Heidelberg College, Tiffin, OH; his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, OH; and a Master of Public Health degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, Baltimore, MD. He currently lives in Sylvania, OH with his wife of 45 years, Areti Tsavoussis.
