The Sun of Wisdom is a commentary on a famous text by an early Indian Buddhist known as Nagarjuna. He is credited with discovering the Buddha's Vajrayana, or Tantric, teachings, 400 years after his death. Hence he is considered to be the first Vajrayana Buddhist and his many compositions and treatises are studied and revered today by all practitioners of Tibetan Buddhism.
"Consummately readable . . . a unique combination of scholarly acumen and spirited engagement towards what might otherwise seem like dry and difficult material to the average reader." Buddhadharma
