Description

This influential spiritual classic offers a presentation of Buddhist teachings accessible to seekers of any faith. Tibetan meditation master Chgyam Trungpa presents an overview of the spiritual path and warns of common mistakes along that path. He describes the problem he calls 'spiritual materialism' - strengthening our egocentricity through spiritual techniques while deceiving ourselves into thinking we are developing spiritually.

Reviews

Based on the highest view of the Vajrayana school, it defines basic principles not only of Buddhism but of spiritual practice altogether. Always contemporary and relevant, a profound influence on how Buddhism is understood today.Lions Roar

"The usefulness of this book lies in Trungpa's uncanny ability to cut right to the heart of the matter and presents his understanding of Buddhism and the way of life it teaches in a manner that is applicable to his students' living situation."Journal of the American Academy of Religion
