Description

Throughout history, humans have been fascinated by the idea of something beyond their own experience. Whether through organized religion, or among the growing contingent of people who self-identify as spiritual, but not religious, this curiosity about a higher power has also fascinated civilization's most brilliant thinkers for centuries. With forty-eight carefully chosen quotes from the most creative thinkers throughout time-including Homer, Pope Francis, and Maya Angelou-GOD opens the door to contemplation and discussion of this most perennial of human preoccupations. Each quote is paired with a delightful illustration from famed New Yorker cartoonist R.O. Blechman, grounding this varied group of perspectives in a common visual language that is sure to amuse and delight readers.
