Author Bio
Dr. Valerie Arthur is Founder and CEO of Christ Centered in the City International Ministries, the non- profit arm of Black Gold International. Dr. Arthur is a charter member and Board Chair of the Smith Family Foundation of New Jersey.
After 27 years of distinguished service with the New Jersey Department of Correction, Dr. Arthur retired as the first African American Administrator in the 100-year history of the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women.
Dr. Arthur received her Doctor of Ministry degree focused on Prison Policy and Transformative Justice from the New Brunswick Theological Seminary.
