Ten Lay Sermons by a Christian Eccentric is a collection of sermons that were were written and delivered by a Presbyterian church elder at a small protestant fellowship in Annandale, Virginia. When the pastor needed a substitute preacher, he or she would sometimes call on Elder Margaret Reynolds to lead the congregation in worship. Over the past forty years, Elder Reynolds has served in this capacity more than thirty times. The sermons chosen for this book are offered for the glory of God.
Margaret Johnson Reynolds grew up in a Christian home in Marlinton, West Virginia. Her Bachelor of Arts degree is from West Virginia University, and her Master of Arts is from George Mason University. Her principal interests in life have been homemaking, art, and literature, all under the benign guidance of faith in Jesus Christ.
Since 1982, Reynolds has been invited more than 30 times to share her faith, via lay sermons, with the members of John Calvin Presbyterian Church in Annandale, Virginia. She is grateful to that Fellowship for the opportunity to speak.
