Benebell Wen offers the first book in English to explore the rich history and ancient practice of crafting Fu talismans, or magical sigils, in the Chinese Taoist tradition. To introduce the craft to Western practitioners, she provides historic and cultural context, from the neolithic period of Chinese history to contemporary practices of esoteric Taoism, and deconstructs Taoist spellcrafting, from the theoretical and metaphysical principles that govern craft to the anatomy of a traditional Fu talisman. The Tao of Craft demonstrates how metaphysical energy can be harnessed to amplify, strengthen, weaken, dispel, or block other metaphysical energy and to rectify imbalances in the material plane. In the process it serves as a step-by-step instructional handbook on crafting Fu talismans that can be used for such things as finding love, earning more money, or easing emotional tensions in the home. Supported by an abundance of detailed charts and images, this book provides readers with the knowledge and confidence to craft their own Fu talismans for personal empowerment.
Benebell Wen has gifted us with an amazingly rich resource for a life of magic and fulfillment, revealing the sacred and empoweringwhybehind the ancient Taoist art and practice of talisman crafting. Read and remember where you are and why you are here.

The publication of any book in English on the creation and use of Fu talismansamong the most useful and accessible parts of the rich heritage of Chinese magicis welcome, but when that book turns out to be readable, thoughtful, and eminently practical, thats cause for celebration. Benebell WensThe Tao of Craftis all that and more, and deserves the attention of any reader interested in the theory and practice of operative magic.
