After losing their family business, the author and her husband were forced to sell their beautiful, newly-built home. They moved into an older, smaller house away from the fast-paced city.
While cleaning the overgrown backyard, the author stumbled upon a bird's nest that had fallen to the ground. Studying what seemed at first glance to only be worth a trip to the trashcan, she soon realised the intricate craftsmanship of the nest. The bird had taken tiny bits of nothing and created, by instinct, a beautiful refuge for her family. The experience caused the author to expound on what the word 'home' really means. Using Biblical references and inspirational examples, the author explains her 14 principles for creating a more peaceful, spiritual home environment in chapters like: Seek God for Wisdom and Guidance. Love People and Use Things, Consciously Set the Emotional Tone of Your Home, Build a Foundation of Integrity, Stand Guard at the Gate and Be Careful Who Enters.Pamela J. Bailey developed an appreciation for beautiful homes at the age of 10 and made a career in the home furnishings industry. She speaks and gives workshops on living well and the importance of creating loving, peaceful and beautiful home environments.
