The first edition of this work, which was included in Eugene Sheehy's Guide to Reference Books (10th ed.), became an indispensable snapshot of the state of librarianship and publishing around the world. Author Bio

VLADIMIR F. WERTSMAN is a multilingual librarian and Chair of the Publishing and Multicultural Materials Committee of the Ethnic Materials and Information Exchange Round Table of the American Library Association. He was formerly a senior librarian at the New York Public Library and has authored numerous books and articles on ethnic American groups, languages, and library topics. His biography is included in Contemporary Authors and Who's Who in America.
