A timely book that explores the critical need for social studies to be equally taught in American public schools that provides a call to action for all that understand the need to build an active and informed citizenry through more effective social studies education.
We have missed part of the equation for effective education. We forgot that social studies is a critical part of the goals of public education and is paramount to effectively creating an informed citizenry in which representative government can thrive for generations. We must prioritise Social Studies education in public schools. This book explores the historical story about the swing away from social studies education, the issues of equitable funding for the social studies in public schools, how under-prioritising this curriculum has led to a lack of skills in the general population to discern truth, as well as how to energise our country in support of Social Studies education.
