In addition to making clear theoretical distinctions between different forms of globalization and internationalization, this book provides important insights into the development of institutional strategies and their management. Above all it offers an intelligent and comprehensive account of higher education's efforts to respond to the challenges of globalization.' Peter Scott, Vice Chancellor, Kingston University,UK
This timely and comprehensive set of essays should prove valuable to anyone considering the ethical challenges and cultural tensions created by a global market in students and staff, and the institutional responsibilities of higher education beyond state boundaries.' Sir David Watson, Professor of Higher Education Management, Institute of Education, University of London, UK
This book deserves a place on the bookshelf of any student, scholar, university manager, marketing practitioner, or government policy maker who has an interest in globalisation and higher education internationalisation; it will provide inspiration and serve as a useful source of reference.' Journal of Higher Education Policy and Management

Maringe and Foskett offer theoretical and practical insights for examining the intensifying role and increasing relevance of globalization and internationalization in higher education. The scope is broad and extends both research and practical understanding of these important dimensions in the fast-changing landscape of higher education. The book also serves as a descriptive, though not overly prescriptive, guide for implementing strategies. Scholars investigating and/or working within the international higher education domain as well as administrators looking to ramp up institutional global efforts will find this book to be a useful resource. -- Educational Review, 63:4
