Leslie Ann Hayashi is a retired judge, author,and artist. She has written several childrensbooks, contributed to various short storycollections, and won several writing awards.Her husband, Alan Van Etten, is an attorneyin Honolulu. Both are proud members of theABA since the 1970s and 1980s. Their olderson, Justin, is in-house counsel at Figma inSan Francisco. He and his wife, Jannie, havea daughter, Tanni, whom Gma and Gpa lovedearly. Their second son, Taylor, works forRemitly in Seattle. He and his wife Marinaare parents to a beautiful Corgi namedFreya. Tammy Yee is the author and/or illustratorof more than 40 childrens books. She grewup in Hawai`i where she explored tide pools,swam in streams, and wrote and illustratedspooky stories her teachers politely read.After working as a pediatric medical-surgicaland oncology nurse, in 1994 she exchangedher stethoscope for a paintbrush and hasbeen writing and illustrating ever since. Shehas also designed digital murals for localhealth centers, pediatric hospitals, andambulances. In 2022, she was inducted intothe Childrens Literature of Hawai`is (CLH)Hall of Fame.
