The main character, Hairy Hank, is a hippo, who teaches us how to count by playing with a ball and jacks. Musical rhyming words and the dancing ball and jacks add to the fun. Author Bio

I grew up in Staten Island, New York, in a small town called Rossville. I am one of twelve children and the fifth child out of the twelve. Writing since I was little while talking and singing to the frogs and turtles in the pond. They were my best friends and the pond sparked my imagination and my creativity flourished. This was my happy place! Also wrote poetry and song lyrics. Many of my poems are published by the Famous Poet Society. Writing for children and teenagers is my lifelong passion! I attended the Institute of Children's Literature and studied Writing for Children and Teenagers. Only 10 students across the country were offered the opportunity to continue with an accelerated degree program. I was one of the chosen and I'm not quite sure how this happened. It was tough, but I am grateful. I also hold a BS degree from Centenary College. I continued with my education and attended nursing school. I currently work as a nurse and write in the wee hours of the morning when I get home.
