Anthony Armadillo travels to Alabama in time for its bicentennial celebration. He adventures in different cities and places. Anthony travels by train, plane, and boat. Along his travels, he meets several of the state's animals and insects. He even gets to ride in a racecar and attend a horseshow. The names of the animals that Anthony meets are in an alliterative form such as Herman Horse. There is a parade at the end of the book and includes a glossary.
Patricia Mark Willoughby was born in Fort Worth, Texas. She has served in the military and has traveled to different states. She is currently married and living in Georgetown, Texas, with her husband, Brian, and their two sons. She has a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas, Austin. Patricia loves to travel and enjoys reading.Lauren Whitacre Schwartz was born and raised in Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas, with a B. A. in Fine Arts. She is retired after 33 years of teaching in the Public School System. She lives with her family in the piney woods of East Texas.
