With these teacher's guides and study books, you'll have your elementary and middle-schoolers mesmerized by math in no time! Students will increase their ability to mentally manipulate numbers, while learning magic tricks that use dice, coins, buttons, stones, and other common objects.
This book is full of well-organized, NCTM standards-correlated, easy-to-follow directions for activities to aid the teacher in making math interesting. The book is designed around the theory that kids learn math better through the use of activities. The tricks are excellent and make the book simple to begin using immediately. A 'math skills' cross-reference chart makes choosing an activity easy. Although the author recommends this book for second graders, it is more appropriate for third graders since presentation of the tricks requires memorization. Most children will enjoy many of the activities through middle school. The directions are for both teacher and student, and are organized by difficulty level and subject area. This book will help any teacher who wants to put a little pizzazz in their lessons. Recommended. * Library Media Connection *
