The book outlines the causes of disaffection generally and looks at a range of syndromes and conditions that may give rise to disaffection, offering support strategies that will encourage the engagement of such students. The book also outlines approaches for helping students to self-manage their behaviour and learning.
Dave is an independent consultant who regularly trains lecturers, teachers and support workers around the country on behaviour management, teaching and learning. He provides seminars and behaviour roadshows for NASEN and SEBDA, and lectures on the Foundation Degree and HLTA programme at the University of Plymouth. He provides training for a number of companies including Lighthouse, Tribal/SFE, DICE, RTA and Sector Training, and has also provided training for Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) around the UK. He has written over 12 books, the last published title being How to Manage Behaviour in FE.
