Author Bio

Kathleen Brenny has a BA in education and a masters and specialist degree in administration. She owns and operates the Children's Learning Center, and was a principal at Kuemper Catholic School in Carroll, Iowa. Ms. Brenny has served on numerous educational committees at a local, state and federal level, as well as presented at state and national conferences concerning safe school issues, assessment, early childhood, and English Language Learners. She is presently a school improvement consultant and lives in Sac City, Iowa.

Kandace Martin has been a secondary English teacher, middle school administrator, university instructor, and a staff development consultant. Throughout her thirty years in education she has supervised student teachers, taught elementary and secondary education majors, and developed and facilitated an induction and mentoring program for teachers in over fifty school districts. She has also written and presented papers at several national and state conferences. Mrs. Martin lives in Webster City, Iowa.
