Author Bio

Eun Kyung Ko, Ph.D. is an Associate professor of science education at National Louis University. She holds a doctorate in Science Education from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Her research interests focus on enhancing K-12 science teachers' pedagogical knowledge related to the nature of science and scientific inquiry. She has designed and co-designed several professional learning sequences and tools for in-service and preservice teachers, including the Adaptive Cycle of Teaching (ACT) model for science instruction. Dr. Ko has also been the principal investigator on multiple projects supported by the National Science Foundation to advance science teachers pedagogical skills in elementary and middle school classrooms.

Xiaoning Chen, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and chair of the ESL/Bilingual Education at National Louis University. She holds a doctorate in Language and Literacy Education from Purdue University. Dr. Chen has two decades of experience in language education and teacher training in t
