Author Bio

Steven Slatest was born in the Bronx to an NYPD officer and an executive at Texaco, Inc.. He attended Catholic School, first at St. Lucy's then Cardinal Spellman H.S., before moving on to Pace Univerity, wher he played four years on the baseball team.After Pace University, he bounced around Manhattan working various jobs until 1993, when his older brother Lenny-who meant so much to him-guided him toward teaching.He started out in the Bronx, where he taught for one year, before moving on to Queens, where he spent seven years as an educator. For the last 17 years, he has taught in the Levittown School District, and currently teaches at Jonas A. Salk Middle School.He resides in the comfortable beach community of Long Beach, New York, with his amazing life-partner Linda and his incredible daughter Zoe. They are constantly entertained by their Black Lab Percy!
