This collection of works by Chilean experts explores the long-term effects of neoliberalism. It questions Chile's status as a successful and exemplery democratic country. Dealing first with the circumstances that facilitated the establishment of the neoliberal experiment in Chile, it then looks into the ultimate impact of 35 years of policies from an economic, social, environmental, politcal and human rights perspective.
Ximena de la Barra is an international consultant and former UNICEF Latin America Public Policy Advisor. She earlier formed part of the Allende Popular Unity government in Chile and of the first democratically elected local government in Madrid.
